Second Challenge Award announced in China

Hey there,

I have just come back from a fantastic trip to China with exciting news.

On August 1st, Caracter Company China delivered a training on Private Label Management for Convenience Stores in Shanghai. Over 40 attendees, including top players such as FamilyMart, Petrol China, to name just a few, from across the country joined, learned, shared and satisfied with Caracter’s experience and expertise in PLs.

We were happy to see Chinese retailers pay much attention to PLs amid slowing economic growth and intensive competition. Their commitments, keenness to learn and quickness and flexibilities to implement really impressed us.

On the 3rd, together with our local partner, Private Label Sourcing Committee (PLSC), we hosted a press conference to announce the second Challenge Award in China.

The first Challenge Award, which originated by Caracter Company ten years ago in Europe, was brought by Caracter Company China team to partner with PLSC, leveraging its perfect process, to award the best players in private labels in seven awards: strategy, category, shopper activation, product innovation, packaging design and most popular retailers.

The first award event, though prepared in a short time-period, was a huge success, with over 30 retailers competing including top retailers such as Walmart, Lawson, Familymart, Lianhua and etc. and massive media coverage. In the end, all participants learned a lot from each other and recognize the authority of Caracter and PLSC in this matter.

This year, we are expecting close to 50 companies registered with more innovative products to compete! The final award event will be hosted in the Private Label Fair Asia in December in Shanghai. You must stop by if you are around!
